About the GLI Lifestyle Program (SSiB) at Helix Physical Therapy

Helix Physical Therapy, in collaboration with the dietitians at Dietiek op Maat and Eet met Suus , the accredited lifestyle program “GLI SSiB” (Active Together). This program is a Combined Lifestyle Intervention (GLI) for adults who are overweight or obese and have an increased health risk. The goal is to guide participants toward a healthier lifestyle over a two-year period, focusing on nutrition, physical activity, and behavioral change.

What makes GLI SSiB special?

Many GLI programs are led solely by lifestyle coaches. At SSIB, we combine the knowledge and experience of physical therapists, dietitians, and lifestyle coaches to achieve better results.

Comprehensive Approach: During the intensive first year, participants will receive:

Freely accessible & recognized: SSiB is an official, recognized intervention (level “preliminary evidence of effectiveness”) and is fully covered by basic health insurance, without affecting your deductible.

Community & Connection: The program is implemented locally and promotes group exercise, knowledge-building, and social connection.

Why Helix Physical Therapy Is the Right Place for You

  • Expertise in physical recovery and preventive care: Our physical therapists and personal trainers are extensively trained in both rehabilitation and behavior-based guidance for lifestyle changes.
  • Collaboration with Nutrition Professionals: In partnership with Dietiek op Maat and Eet met Suus, we can offer holistic guidance—from nutrition to exercise and behavior—so that participants can build a strong foundation.
  • Customized Exercise Programs: At Helix, we combine individualized physical therapy with targeted personal training and group classes designed to support lifestyle changes.
  • Digital support & follow-up: Using (or linking to) apps, reminders, and online content—such as that available in SSiB—increases the likelihood of lasting results.
